The Generation Gap Lab
An Experience in Understanding Today’s Young Adults
What if your congregation could see the world through the eyes of a young adult?
Many churches care deeply about young adults but struggle to understand why younger generations often seem disconnected from faith communities, institutions, and older generations. The result is more than a participation challenge—it can create barriers to meaningful relationships, mutual understanding, spiritual growth, and shared ministry.
The Generation Gap Lab
is a two-hour interactive workshop curriculum designed to help small groups in congregations bridge that divide. Through a digital simulation, video storytelling, guided reflection, and facilitated discussion, participants gain insight into the realities shaping the lives, choices, and perspectives of Millennials and Gen Z. This experience builds empathy, understanding, and connection.
What Participants Will Experience
The Generation Gap Lab combines multiple learning formats to create an engaging and memorable experience:
✓ Interactive digital simulation
✓ Short videos featuring young adult voices
✓ Guided small-group discussions
✓ Reflection exercises
The experience can be self-guided or facilitated by a leader with minimal preparation time.
What Participants Will Learn
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
Understand the world young adults navigate
Hear how young adults experience faith communities
Discover common ground across generations
Build greater empathy and connection
