Becoming a Changemaker Church

Helping Churches Turn Compassion Into Action

The program is a guided journey through our 4-module R.I.S.K. Framework. By the end of the program, you will have experienced and learned a process for discerning, listening, and experimenting with a community impact project.

It’s all about compassion, collaboration, and creativity.

The next cohort begins in January 2027. Stay tuned for more details.

How It Works

A pastor and lay partner (the “Change Leaders”) are trained to facilitate each module with a small team from their congregation. Beyond the six virtual training sessions, you then have flexibility and agency to determine what schedule and tools work with your team’s context.

Many participants describe this experience as addressing three longings for churches:

✨ leadership development

✨ spiritual formation and discipleship

✨ community impact

We welcome congregations and individuals of any denomination, faith tradition, race, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Scholarships are available.

Examples of church experiments resulting from this cohort program:

  • Monthly lunch program for lonely seniors, partnering with local restaurants

  • Guided nature walks as a spiritual approach to anxiety

  • Yoga and nutrition classes to address health issues among church and community members

  • Creating a computer and study center for community youth after school
