Accelerating your Social Justice goals
Have an idea to help make a difference in your community?
What would it take to launch your idea?
Ever considered partnering with a religious institution? Many have the monetary capital, the people power, members with the community connections, even the physical spaces to house your project.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr worked from within religious institutions and bridged gaps with different faith communities to achieve a common goal of passing the Civil Rights Act. Religious institutions have been on the front lines helping solve social injustices throughout history — from civil rights to soup kitchens, schools, and hospitals. We believe partnerships between activists and faith communities are vital to achieving real progress.
How can we move forward?
Many people who have been noticed for being “on the wrong side of history” make their affiliations with certain religious institutions known but these individuals and organizations make up only a fraction of faith communities in our country. We get it, the fact of the matter is, 40% of young adults say they have experienced trauma from organized religion (Springtide Research Institute 2022). We suspect that those working in progressive activism would have much higher rates. However, there are many faith communities who are eager to participate in truly helping their communities but with a lack of connection to the issues you are working on.
What if you could partner with a faith community who aligns with your values and wants to help build your project?
With an eight week training and mentorship program we will teach you how to make these strategic partnerships and give you real-world practice to apply the lessons we offer. Additionally, we’ll train your team to write a grant proposal and award your project up to $10,000 to get it off the ground.
We provide a structured space that teaches you how to foster effective strategic partnerships with congregations. We have designed our curriculum around our RISK framework – How to Realize the stories being told, Immerse ourselves in changing that narrative, Start creating new stories, and Keep it going in the future.
